Months have gone
Years have passed
The dream still lives
Will I ever fulfill it
I wish to get it sealed
Sooner than later
From childhood I aspired
To get it done early
The present presents many challenges
Sometimes I wonder
If it could be done
In a timespan I thought it
There is still hope
But Lord I need your sign
I think about
It is my dream
If I will be able to make it happen
Lord please I need a sign

Finally embracing the poetry side
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit empty though
It is like you are afraid to say what you want

Not a bad effort. You need to learn a thing or two about punctuation. It is very necessary in good poetry.
ReplyDeleteAdd commas, semi-colons, colons, periods, question marks, even ellipses. Use them well, so your reader is guided through sensibly.
Also, it is one thing having something to write about, it is quite another knowing how to structure your content. That doesn't only mean versification, it means meter.
Learn a thing or two about basic meter (any length of iambs will do) and read about cadence in poetry. An important skill, if you want to be a good poet, is to read a lot of poetry. Aloud.
Reading will give you a feel for what a poem should read like.
Good luck.
